Highlight the colum with the dates in it. Then go up to format cells, pick
date according to the date order you want. ChelleA - that would be helpful but they do not allow me to choose that
format?? Also, sometimes when trying to put dates in, ie 032105- as it is formatted for mm/dd/yy - it comes up as 11/24/87 ????? that is beyond me. i just want to put the data - that comes to us as: 05/03/21 ---yy/mm/dd, march 21st, 2005 into 03/21/05 format.....mm/dd/yy just can seem to figure this one out!! You can't enter a date in that manner without using code to covert it. Dates must be entered with some type of separator like / or - i just want to put the data - that comes to us as: 05/03/21 ---yy/mm/dd, march 21st, 2005 Excel will interpret that as March 5th, 2021 in my English(Canada) setup. into 03/21/05 format.....mm/dd/yy just can seem to figure this one out!! Try highlighting the column and then go up to data, text to columns,
delimited (next), check "keek delimeters as one" (next), then under column data format tell it date, and pick the format that it was sent in (ie, YMD year, month, date) then hit finish. It should then change from the format they sent it in to MDY for you as the default for being in a date field. From here you can format it thru the format section on your tool bar.
