Default How to Find Funcres.xla in Office 2007

I have an excel add-in file that was built by my teacher to perform
complicated gas and oil calculations. In Office 2003, I would search the C
drive for "funcres" and it finds an excel file called funcres.xla. I paste
my formula file into that same folder and then go into excel. I go to
Add-Ins and it appears as one of the functions you can add in by clicking on
the check box. I can then use my formulas just as I would use any other
function.

Now I have Office 2007 and can't find the funcres file anywhere on my hard
drive. Any ideas? Maybe the file is called something else?

Hi

I think that gets loaded as part of the Analysis Toolpak, which I also
believe is automatically incorporated into XL2007.
If the press the Round office ButtonExcel OptionsAddins look at the
list and see if it is loaded.
If not, click the Go button at bottom of page for Excel addins and
ensure there is a tick against Analysis Toolpak.

Worked like a charm. Doesn't look like it was installed when I bought the
computer.

Thank you!

In previous versions FUNCRES.XLA provided the Analysis ToolPak
functions. In Excel 2007, the former ATP functions have become built-
in functions, so no more need for FUNCRES.XLA.

Are particular formulas not working?

Sounds like you're using the location of Funcres.xla to locate your AddIn
folder, without realizing it. I don't use XL2007, but in 2003 you simply
place your AddIn into the AddIn folder... \Profile\Application
Data\Microsoft\AddIns
