"XP" means MS Office XP?
Or just Excel XP? Lead us up to where you are when you try to type a number. Will Excel open? Can you open a new workbook? What do you see when you open the workbook? Can you select a cell to type into? What happens when you try to type? Nothing? Error message? In other words, pretend we are not sitting at your computer and cannot see what you see.
