Default formula for colour

can i use any formula for colour
example i have a some col. in a work sheet one of them have different
figures like with + sign and - sign. i want to show all - sign with colour
red and +sign with blue
i will be gratefull if any body help me and i would like to thanks pete too
to solve my previous problem.

Hi Zafar,

glad the last suggestion worked for you.

As regards the colouring of cells, highlight all the cells and click
the colour icon to select Blue. Then use Format | Cells | Number (tab)
and select Custom at the bottom of the list. In the panel under Type
enter this:

0;[Red]-0

and click OK. This will give you blue numbers if they are +ve and red
numbers if they are -ve.

Default formula for colour

If you simply want to show negative numbers as red and positive numbers as
blue then conditional formatting will do the trick.

select cell and click Format Conditional formatting and the rest is fairly
intuative.

If the cell contains a - or + sign as text then likewise conditional format
will work but use 'if cell is equal to "-" or "+"
