counting check boxes

I should say, counting the checked boxes.
I have a row of cells that I put check boxes in for soldiers that are CONUS,
another cell has that number. I would like it to count the checks.
CONUS total CONUS
j19 w19
j20
j21
j22
j23
so on and so forth
