I have receive a spreadsheet with a created worksheet function in it. How do
I find out what that function is trying to do?

If you can read VBA then use Alt+F11 (or Tools|MacroVisual Basic
Editor...). At the left there should be the Project Explorer.
Double-click the Modules and find the definition of the function.
