Removing 1-2 caharacters
=LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1&" ")-1)
-- HTH Bob Phillips (replace somewhere in email address with gmail if mailing direct) "Blueboy" wrote in message ... I have a lengthy licst of names I need to use for a mail merge. The first names are seperated from the last, that's great. however, many of the first names have a mibddle initial and some have a period following the initial. Is there a way I can remove the last 2 characters of a string? I don't want the initilals included in the merge. Examples of the list: Marvin P. Mary R etc. Thanks. |
