Default How do I have excel setup so formulas is connected between sheets

Basics of linking............

Assume in A1 of Sheet1 you have a value of 12345

In A1 of Sheet2 enter =Sheet1!A1 to return the value 12345

Other methods................

1. select Sheet1 A1 and type an = sign but do not hit ENTER.

Switch to Sheet1 and select A1 then hit ENTER key.

2. copy Sheet1 A1 and switch to Sheet2 A1.

EditPaste SpecialPaste LinkOKEsc.

For example: When I put in data on sheet 1 for a budget then on sheet 2
have the total that is the same as on sheet 1 I have to do each sheet
manually. I was told that if I was to change anything on sheet 1 it is
supposed to automatically change on sheet 2.
Any help would be appreciated.
