Hi Laurie
You don't say whether it is based on Time 1, Time 2 or an aggregate of both times. A simple, non formula solution might be to copy the data to another sheet, mark the whole block of data and sort by the relevant time column. Either hide or delete the data you don't want to show. (If it is based on the aggregate times, then create a column adding the times and use this as the sort column) -- Regards Roger Govier "laurie g" <laurie wrote in message ... my worksheet (score/time sheet) has many Names and times Name Time1 Time2 club memberid fred 2.30 2.15 ABC 256 sam 2.13 2.37 GHJ 158 sue 1.58 1.50 XYZ 188 on a new worksheet i want to calculate the following only to 5th place what is the best function to use and how 1st name time 2nd name time |

Hi Roger,
It would be the best Time from time1 or time2. The file would be used by other parents from my Daughters sporting club so a formula would be best to advoid human errors. In total there could be 150 plus times recorded per worksheet Using the SMALL function (1,2,3,4,5) gives me the times just need to include Names to correspond to the result. Is this function the way to go Regards Laurie g "Roger Govier" wrote: Hi Laurie You don't say whether it is based on Time 1, Time 2 or an aggregate of both times.
