Default Select and Display top 5 results

my worksheet (score/time sheet) has many Names and times

Name Time1 Time2 club memberid

fred 2.30 2.15 ABC 256
sam 2.13 2.37 GHJ 158
sue 1.58 1.50 XYZ 188

on a new worksheet i want to calculate the following only to 5th place
what is the best function to use and how

1st name time
2nd name time

Hi Laurie

You don't say whether it is based on Time 1, Time 2 or an aggregate of
both times.

A simple, non formula solution might be to copy the data to another
sheet, mark the whole block of data and sort by the relevant time
column. Either hide or delete the data you don't want to show.
(If it is based on the aggregate times, then create a column adding the
times and use this as the sort column)

Hi Roger,

It would be the best Time from time1 or time2. The file would be used by
other parents from my Daughters sporting club so a formula would be best to
advoid human errors. In total there could be 150 plus times recorded per
worksheet

Using the SMALL function (1,2,3,4,5) gives me the times just need to include
Names to correspond to the result. Is this function the way to go
