Default Adding more than 3 cells (2003)produces "0" but no error message

I have a spreadsheet with 26 worksheets ( 20 weeks of sales data - only A-L
and about 40 rows). I add daily subtotals for a week to date running total.
Several weeks ago when I went to add the 3rd day it would "calculate" "0.00."
There is no error message. I can manually insert the totals from each day &
it'll add...I've tried copying just one worksheet to a new
worksheet...deleting formulas etc. but, it does the same thing.

A bit confusing. Tell us how the data is set out. Explain "I went to add the
3rd day it would calculate 0.00" - where is this calculation? what is the
formula.
We want to help but more detail is needed

Thank You!! If I sent it would it help? What I have is a sales tracking
spreadsheet with aver 25 worksheets...1 for each week. I list data about
each order & subtotal each day. I keep a running total - week-to-date by
adding the subtotal for each day. I've used the spreadsheet since
March...adding a worksheet a week & a few graphs...It wasn't until recently
(the last month, perhaps) that it didn't work just fine!

Another problem...when I Format - Cells - currency - it always formats
Number (the choice above currency) I repeat the command again...& it takes it
and displays it correctly ... as currency! I've been using Excel since
version 1 & I've never experienced anything this frustrating! I'm sure it's
something really simple!

I've also heard that there's an "auto subtotal" feature??????
Thanx so much!
