Default excel should allow me Indian number grouping ##,##,##,###.##

Excel does not have grouping for numbers used in India.
we need the described grouping for everyday use as we dont use millions
grouping

Did you try changing your regional settings in Control Panel? Excel gets
these settings from Windows. I assume that you are using Windows.

Look in Groups *excel*, search for:

indian number format

You'll find many links, I can't advise you on which one is best!
