Default Excel Database Readability in Linux?

Hi everyone,
Say you have a database designed in Excel as a workbook. Assume a user
is runing work using Linux machine. Can Linux read the Excel database still?

Linux is an OS, you might want to try opening your file in OpenOffice
Calc which is a free MS Office replacement (I use it on all of my Ubuntu
and some of my XP machines), you can read more about it he

http://www.openoffice.org/product/calc.html

If your work doesn't contain sensitive data feel free to send me a file
and I'll let you know if it opens and works correctly, send specific
tests you want performed if you do.
