PIVOT - Reference a cell outside the table for report filtering
Is there any way to do this? Thinking of a Pivot table where I can drop
fields into the "Report Filter" area. Then you can use the drop down next to the field to filter the data. I'm wondering if there is some way to instead have that field look to a cell outside of the pivot table (but still part of the workbook) to filter the field, and therefore the table, based on. In this case, I have multiple data sources coming to the workbook, each diplaying as a pivot table. But they all do share a common field. Rather than have the user go filter each of 3 or 4 tables, I'd love if I could have them simply type the data in a single cell somewhere, and have that filter this field in all 3 or 4 tables. |
