Basis question about Group/Ungroup

Hi all:
My dev environmnet: office 2007 ,VS 2007, c#.
I want to group rows (say from row 2 to row 7) in a worksheet, how can i do.
Also, how could i know group by rows or by columns ?

Consider i am a novice to excel, please give me information as deatil as
possible.
