Just wondering if this is abnormal.

xls size is 15 megs. It taking a good 10 seconds to display the data
sheet. 4 secs before the 'fuel gauge' shows down the bottom.

Is this about right, or have I bloasted it somehow? I removed
all macros for a test comparison but it made no change.

Has a lot to do with your system capabilities. Memory, etc. You might need
to run disc clean up, or file compression to make hard drive space.
