Default Error Messages: 'Text String is Too Long...'; 'Can't Record Macro'

I am trying to log into a web-based database. Whenever I try to record a
macro to do this, I get an error. For instance, when I click Data import
External Data New Web Query, then copy/paste the correct http address from
the web page, which by the way is 352 characters long, a message popup saying
€˜The text string you entered is too long. Reduce the number of characters
used or cancel the entry. As a work around, I navigate to the correct http
address by clicking a few icons, and then click the yellow arrow close at the
web table that I want to import, but then I get a message that says €˜Cant
record macro. Am I out of luck here? I can do the web import, but I cant
seem to record the macro so I can automate it for each time that I need to do
this.

Am I out of luck or is there some other way of doing this?

Regards,
