You can change the program a shortcut will open by
1) right click the shortcut and select Properties and then the Genral Tab. 2) Select Change and then the browse button 3) Then select C: Drive - Program Files - Microsoft Office - Office11 - Excel.Exe The path may be a little different on your machine especially because you have two version of excel installed on your machine. Thje path above is where my Excel 2003 is located on my PC. I would open a window explorer and go to the C: Drive and search for Excel.Exe. You should have two copies of the file. One for Excel 2003 and one for Excel 2007. Choose the right one for Excel 2003. "fernando" wrote: Hello, I have installed on my pc both versions of ms excel, 2003 and 2007. If I open a file by dblclick, it opens in 2007, but if i open excel 2003 first, and then dblclick the file, it opens in 2003. How can I create a shortcut to a specific file that automatically opens in 2003? Another problem with similar solution (i think) is that the vba code running in some excel file can take some minutes, and this will block any file(s) opened in that 'instance' of excel, which doesnt happen with files opened in other instances, can i create a shortcut to a file that it will always open on a separate 'instance'? thanks for the help fernando |
