Default Copying worksheets - loosing range names

I'm working with updating some VBA code written in Xl2003 to xl2007.

I have several apps that make use of an exisiting file that contains
multiple range names - lookup talbles used in vlookup commands.

In xl2007 the range names disappear when I copy the worksheet with the
tables on it to the active book.

I also have a similar application where I need to combine sheets from
mulitple workbooks into one. Once they are combined the range names
dissappear from the sheets copied into the master.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a workaround?

suggestions and ideas most welcome,
Ken
