Date Picker Behaviour

I have a Date picker on a worksheet running as an application. It seams that
to change the date I have to click on the date twice. I know it is not
working the fiirst click becouse I hve code against the ValueChanged event
that only fires on thesecond click. Is ther some property I am missing to get
the thing to fire for the first click?
