Default Future support of Visual Basic for Excel

Has anyone heard if Microsoft plans to continue supporting Visual Basic for
Excel in future releases? Rumor has it that it is going away. Is that true?

VBA will be supported for many years yet, the investment is too great, but
MS will not be developing it.
