If you go into tools=Protection, does it offer the option to unprotect the
workbook. If so, I suspect this is the problem. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "Bogdan" wrote in message ... Hi Ron, I read the article, but somehow I anticipated this potential cause. Indeed, the file was password protected, but only for write rights. That's why I made a copy of this file and I cancelled the password, but problem persists. If I try to open the file, everything seems normal and no password is required. Moreover, in this collection of 100 files, there are many other files with the same type of protection, but I didn't have this problem. What else could be??? (I have Micrsoft Excel 2003). Hi there, I'm running a code using ADO (copying data from 100 closed workbook). Everything is ok, except one file for which a get the following error: "Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)': Could not decrypt file" I pushed Help button, but the help page is empty. Any ideas for this annoying error? Many thanks in advance, Bogdan |
