Default How to protect a range of cells but permit highlight

Hello all

How to protect a range of cells in an excel 2003 worksheet? User cannot
edit the data. But, s/he can highlight those protected cells?

Please give me some suggestions.

Default How to protect a range of cells but permit highlight

Not 100% sure what you mean by Highlight.
But you can Lock the cells you want prevented from being modified, yet allow
the user to select them by:

Tools Protection Protect WorkSheet. And Tick the Allow user to Select
Locked Cells.
