Default open (or save to) other workbooks

I have been reading the help for excel and I cannot figure out why it,
seemingly, not accept to open and read data from another workbook without
resourcing to COM or whatever other means.

What I am looking for:

I have this data entry form that once you click the OK button, it will
record, or add:

1. In a workbook called main.
2. Based on the 5th item of the data entry form, will record to diferent
workbooks, named according to the value in that 5th item.
