Using an IF statement, or VLOOKUP statement
You can only display the result of a formula in a cell: if the result is "G" then it will display "G" (using a "regular" font...)
If you set the font correctly then you might be able to have your formula return the "dot" plus a variable number of trailing spaces and then use those different return values in a conditional format setup. That will be limited to only 3 colors though. Tim -- Tim Williams Palo Alto, CA "EPM" wrote in message ... I would like to be able to create a formula where, depending on the result of the formula, the cell would display a green, blue, red, or yellow a colored dot. For example, if the formula result was equal to "G", then a green dot ? would automatically display in the cell. Or if the formula result was equal to "B", then a blue dot ? would automatically display in the cell...etc. Any ideas on whether or not this is possible? |
