Default digital signatures

Have been looking at digital signatures to sign a commercial .xla add-in.
This looks a complex and confusing topic and I am still not sure if I need
it and if it
would work for me.

There are a few things I still don't quite get:
Could I achieve the same, that is have macro security set to high (how about
trust VBA?) and
still have no macro warning by using a self certification?
As my software frequently gets updated (only by myself) how does this work
with the digital signature?
If I indeed do need a commercial digital signature then what is the best one
to buy?
Do most commercial add-ins have a commercial digital signature?

Thanks for any simple/clear advice/insight about this.
