Default Use Task Scheduler to automatically run Excel workbook

I needed to automate a workbook to run every night. To do this, I wrote a
second workbook that, when opened, automatically opens the first workbook,
runs it, saves the changes, and then closes the first workbook. It then
closes itself. That all works great, but when I try to use Windows Task
Scheduler to run the second workbook nightly, it only works sometimes, with
no event messages telling me why it didn't run on the nights that failed.
Right now, it says it's scheduled to run tonight and was last run 3 days ago.
I assigned the corrent username and password to the task. What am I
missing? Thanks.
