Default Excel forms - authorise / deny forms

Hi All,

I've developed some internal forms that are being used to give some
structure for staff requesting annual leave. They are fairly simple -
various validated fields and macros attached to buttons to send (using
routing) and authorise/deny the requests.

It's now become apparent the the business as a whole are interested in
using this process, with additional functionality such as writing to
databases etc

Does anyone here have experiences they could share about using excel for
this sort of purpose?
