Unable to trace dependents and file shows "Calculate" all the time
Hi guys! Hope you can help me out on these 2 issues:-
1) Tracing dependents I used to be able to trace dependents across the worksheets on the Excel model that i am maintaining, and now i can no longer do so! It returns the message "The trace dependents command found no formulas that refer to the active cell". Yikes! Is there a fix for this? 2) Calculate Regardless of the number of times the workbook has been calculated, it still shows "Ready Calculate" instead of just "Ready". Is there a reason for this and how can i overcome this? Really appreciate any advice! Thanks! |

Unable to trace dependents and file shows "Calculate" all the time
This KB article may be relevant:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.../Q243/4/95.ASP "When you enter formulas that include cell references, the "Calculate" message may remain in the status bar, even though calculation is set to automatic, or if you have manually calculated the file by pressing the F9 key. Additionally, when you use the Trace Dependents tool, all dependents may not appear. CAUSE This behavior occurs when there are 65,536 or more dependencies to unique references (the level or number of links between formulas). " Seagal wrote: Hi guys! Unable to trace dependents and file shows "Calculate" all the time
Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much for your help! The article was indeed relevant! I wish there was a way to fix this as it makes auditing of the model highly inefficient.
