Default Trendline points

How do you get Excel to let you determine where the trendline should start?
Rather than letting it start before you want it to to determine an increase?

Excel isn't so smart. You would have to plot your graph in 2 series; one the
"before" and the other the "after"; or calculate and plot the trendline
yourself as a separate series.
