Default is this a bug or feature?

always wondered if this was by design or not.

say i have a summary workbook with link to another workbook

in A1 of summary.xls:
=Gary.xls!Feb_Profit

when i double click the cell when the cell is protected, i get the protected
cell warning, clicking ok then opens that workbook.

just curious

Hi Gary,
It's new to me.
I tested it and found also that the protected cell works like
a hyperlink, if the second workbook is open.
