Hi,
A 'template' can mean many things - an XLT file is an Excel file that is in many ways like an ordinary excel file - however when users double click in Explorer they open a new instance of the file - rather than the original. The can also be added to the template directories and appear under the 'New from template' area of task pane. However a template could also mean just making a copy of the original for each editor. Depends how you want to play it. In either case if you want to track changes you can select 'Tools', 'Track Changes', 'Highlight Changes' - then distribute your workbook/template. When the workbook is finished with you can use 'Tools', 'Track Changes' and 'Accept or Reject Changes ...' which allows you to find out & undo what was changed.
