Default Turning off automatic calculation when opening a CSV file

Mel,
That won't have any impact as the worst it would do is to set calculation to
manual, which is what I want to do anyway. The only solution I've found so
far is to import data from a CSV file using the data import tool, which gets
around the problem partially, although it's a sub-optimal fix.

Hi Will,

Have you try to disable the this code? by putting ' in front.

'With Application
' .Calculation = xlCalculationManual
' .CalculateBeforeSave = False
'End With

Or maybe you can increase the Macro Security to High Level, Tools, Macro,
Security, High.

Is there any way in which to prevent excel from automatically re-calculating
all open workbooks when opening a CSV file? I have set through Tools|Options
the manual calculation option with recalculate before save switched off and
also, in the code for opening the CSV file, I have used:
With Application
.Calculation = xlCalculationManual
.CalculateBeforeSave = False
End With
However, still my entire Excel session recalculates when the CSV file opens.
Any suggestions?
