Default Opening Excel - File Error

Hello,

I have a Excel file that contains macros, textboxes, userforms, control
buttons and a bunch of other stuff. When I send it out some people have no
trouble and some get a "File Error - Data may have been lost" or something
like that. They press O.K. and they get some of the information on the
workbook but they don't seem to get any of the text boxes or the buttons. I
think this must be a problem with their computers since other people can open
it up just fine. Any ideas? Is it a firewall issue, is the file too large,
do they not have a current enough versions of Excel?

Thanks for your help,
Jordan

Need more data:

Did you confirm versions windows, Excel ?
How did you "send" it?
How did they "recieve" it?
If you send "codeless" excel to same person is there a problem?
Same Email type for recieving?

What version of Excel are you using?

Default Opening Excel - File Error

Hello "Vacation's Over"

They use windows XP and Office Suite with Excel 2003
I sent it via email - Lotus Notes
They received it via email - Outlook Express
I did try sending a codeless part and they were able to open the document
then.
I am using Excel File Version 10.0.6501.0

I had another question on the forum that is related so I pasted that below.
Is the file just too big? When the problem outlined below occurs the others
won't be able to open it. I can open it on my computer, the macros just
won't run.

Hello,
I have a program that creates documents from an existing template. Some
times these files get pretty large. It looks like page 22 is the majic
number for bombing out. By page twenty to the worksheet is on row 1145, and
it has used 401 text boxes and two control buttons. Obviously a very large
file. If the program needs to go any further it will give me:

Run-Time Error -'2147319765(8002802b)'
Automation Error
Element not found.

I can hit debug and then immediatly press the play button and it continues
on its happy way until it gets to the next page and its the same thing. If I
continue to debug and press play until its finished the workbook looks fine
but isn't. There is a command button sheet that when it is clicked the macro
doesn't run. So I went into the VBEditor and tried to run it from there and
I get:

Compile error:
Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that
could not be found.

I checked out the references and it looks to me like all the proper
references are checked so I don't know what thats all about.

I can send you the code and the workbook template if you like, but I'll have
to send that via email.

Thank you very much for your help,
Jordan
