Bug: Command Button Text Size Changes
Hello all,
I have a worksheet (Excel 2003/SP1) with about 10 command buttons that perform different functions. Frequently and at random times, the size of the text in the buttons (and the sizes of the buttons themselves sometimes) change...often down to sizes so small that you just see a squiggle. If I check the properties, the size appears not to have changed. The only way to restore the text to the orginal size is to resize the button a little bit and then return it to it's original size. Has anyone seen this or have suggestions? Thanks! Charlie |

Bug: Command Button Text Size Changes
Just curious...
If you close without saving, does it revert to its original size? If you close with saving, does it fix itself? But there have been lots of posts that describe the same problem as you're having. I don't recall seeing a definitive solution--maybe updating the video drivers would help???? But you may want to consider using buttons from the Forms toolbar instead of the control toolbox toolbar. I don't recall ever seeing a post describing this problem with that type of control. charlie oppenheimer wrote: Hello all, I have a worksheet (Excel 2003/SP1) with about 10 command buttons that perform different functions. Thanks Dave for the suggestion to use the forms controls. I'll try that.
Interestingly, it makes no difference whether I close with or without saving. And once it happens, it happens consistently even after closing the app (without saving) then reopening the sheet. -- Charlie "Dave Peterson" wrote: Just curious... One more thing to try (but only if you really want)...
If you delete the control and add one back, does it work ok? And one more thing to try--this might be worth it: Clean up your windows temp folder. close excel windows start button|Run %temp% Is a quick way to get there. Delete as much as you can. Sometimes excel gets confused when there's lots of junk in that folder--and it uses that folder when you use those controls from the control toolbox toolbar. If you try the second one, post back. (Still just curious.) charlie oppenheimer wrote: Thanks Dave for the suggestion to use the forms controls. I'll try that. Interestingly, it makes no difference whether I close with or without saving.
