Default Values vs. Formulas

I have a sheet that uses links to get its data. I would like to remov
the links once the data has been updated through a macro. The easies
way I can think of is to copy the cell then paste it back into itself
but that would be inefficent and slow. Is there an easier/better way t
do this? Thank you in advance
