Default DTPicker calendar control

If I insert a calender with DTPicker, how come it is covering a least 7 cells
in height, when going from "designmode" to "run "mode The width will remain
the same. If I go from "run" mode to "designmode" The control will schrink
to the size i originally chose. ??
