Hi,
Is there a way to read the SourceData from a Chart?, Ive read on the web that cant be done. There is a file that has this chart, then in a new WBook, it is copied the chart and the sheet that contains the data for the chart. When I do this, The chart's SourceData points to the old WBook, so im trying to read the SourceData so I can change it to be the same range but in the new WBook. Can this be done programatically?, or is there a way to get rid of this "link" with the old file? Thanks ! |

Instead of copying the chart and sourcedata separately, copy the sheet with
the chartobject and data to the new workbook. If chart and data are on different sheets: - select both sheets - right click the (grouped) sheet tabs - "Move or Copy" - check the copy option - select the book to copy to. I haven't tried this macro to change a workbook name, but it's worth a
try. In fact, change the old workbook name to nothing. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com/ _______ Fernando wrote: Hi, Is there a way to read the SourceData from a Chart?, Ive read on the web that cant be done.
