Does anyone know how to change the icon of a excel file (one particular
workbook, not all the .xls files)

I already have my .ico, I just need to assign it.

The icon is chosen based on the file type and I don't believe there is
way to do exactly what you are wanting. My suggestion would be t
create a shortcut to the file and change the icon of the shortcut

I believe Windows keys off of file extensions in assigning icons to files.
I don't know of an exception to that.
