Default is it a microsoft prob..can it be resolved or not?



i need to open an excel file from asp thru the IE browser. i donot have
excel menu in it..only explorer window menu. i want it this way only..

i want to set
displaylaerts = false...so that the use can overwrite the file. i am
using display alerts = false..it gives me an error "method
'displayalerts' of object '_application' failed..

what do i do now???
pls dont say its not possible :-(

i tried ActiveSheet.Application.DisplayAlerts = False
and Application.DisplayAlerts = False
