Default Command Buttons - can't click or open properties

I have the following code under WorkbookOpen event:

Sub PrepareForFirstView()
Dim sh As Worksheet
Sheets("Menu").Visible = True
For Each sh In Sheets
If sh.Name < "Menu" Then sh.Visible = False
Next sh
Sheets("Menu").Activate
ActiveWindow.WindowState = xlMaximized

End Sub

On my "Menu" sheet I have 6 command buttons. The sheet and the
workbook are not protected. When not in design mode 5 of the 6 buttons
do nothing when clicked- the 6th button invokes the code normally.
Also, in design mode I cannot get to the properties for those 5
buttons. When I left click the button, it is selected (I can tell by
the little circles on each corner of the button) but then when I right
click and select properties it will only show me the properties for the
sheet. I am able to see the properties for the 6th button.
I am using Excel 2003 in WinXP SP2.

Thanks,

Brent

had the same problem when i accidently clicked on the control and changed the
embed command, the only way to fix this is to completely delete the original
control, create a new one and name it to the old one, this should call the
code you already have in place

Reply there are 2 types of buttons in Excel. One type comes off the forms
toolbar the other comes from the control toolbox. When you create a button
from the control toolbox (button 6) you will get properties and the like.
These buttons are sheet specific and code written for them is stored in the
sheet to which they are attached. These buttons do not copy well when the
sheet is copied. (try it and see) The other type of button comes from the
forms toolbar and it invokes code in a module (Assign Macro) . It does not
have the properties in the drop down. This button is ideal when you need to
copy sheets and have the button still function properly. (once again try it)
