open OQY file from http:// folder
ok.
I develop OLAP cubes for a living.. with SQL Server Analysis Services.. And I've kindof fallen in love with the .OQY file extension. And I have a wierd question.. <DATA<PIVOT TABLE<GET DATA<OPTIONS And then it gives me the ability to select a new folder for selecting OQY files.. the problem is that it won't let me choose a HTTP folder. I would like to instruct people to add this folder: http://127.0.0.1/epo/oqy to this list; and then they won't have to go to a webpage to select the olap template. For example; I have made a subfolder in my intranet site; where people can get to the OQY files in order to create olap-based pivot Tables just by clicking on the hyperlink. I really just want to allow people to add this HTTP folder to their locations in MS Query. Is there any way to make MS Query able to add a webpage where OQY files are listed? Thru all this talk of UDDI; and all the garbage-- it hasn't really gotten me anywhere.. I just want to save some beancounters a couple of steps.. Any ideas, guys? PS - how do i put this all into beancounter language? BTW, here is the listing of the HTML generated from the current 'http folder'-- i could just let people browse that in excel; right?? <head<title127.0.0.1 - /epo/oqy/</title</head<body<H1127.0.0.1 - /epo/oqy/</H1<hr <pre<A HREF="/epo/"[To Parent Directory]</A<br<br Wednesday, December 01, 2004 11:13 AM 211 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_FINANCIAL_TRANSACTION.oqy"MRS_200411 29_FINANCIA L_TRANSACTION.oqy</A<br Tuesday, November 30, 2004 3:49 PM 194 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_ISE13.oqy"MRS_20041129_ISE13.oqy</A<br Tuesday, November 30, 2004 4:23 PM 194 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_ISE20.oqy"MRS_20041129_ISE20.oqy</A<br Tuesday, November 23, 2004 1:28 PM 205 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_PLANNED_EXPENSES.oqy"MRS_20041129_PL ANNED_EXPEN SES.oqy</A<br Tuesday, November 23, 2004 1:28 PM 203 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_WRS_ASSIGNMENT.oqy"MRS_20041129_WRS_ ASSIGNMENT. oqy</A<br Tuesday, November 23, 2004 1:28 PM 198 <A HREF="/epo/oqy/MRS_20041129_WRS_HOURS.oqy"MRS_20041129_WRS_HOURS .oqy</A<br </pre<hr</body |
