Hi all!

Thanks for the replies!, i cannot attatch the workbook so you may see
what i am trying to achieve (but can send it to anyone willing to
view).....when an extra person has been allowed off in a group and the
date is taken a CLASH is entered (pink coloured line) containing the
same date, currently the program counts all the clash dates in column
A, the second part i have been trying to do is to count all instances
where an extra person has been allowed off (there may be more than one
person on a clash line) and display that aswell so we know how many
accommodations there have been in relation to the amount of clashes
entered.

The new amended code from Dave returns a value of 0 as did my previous
effort but i dont think it is running through the function properly!

Simon.
