Default Large project ideas, maybe should use Access?

hi there,

i am putting together a large amount of data and am looking for som
ideas on how to do it. i have spreadsheets with approx 50000 rows o
data, each row is a distinct product or item. there are also 100
columns of datapoints. i have one of these spreadsheets for every mont
for the last 5 years, so 60 individual files.

i want to create a way to query the data historically through time.
am most familiar w/ excel so this is where i started, but i think th
amt of data im working with is just too large. i figure i have to loo
at Access, but i want to see if any of you have done projects of thi
kind in excel.

thank
