Hello Excel Newsgroup,
I have been experiencing drastic slowing of my macros, all macros, when a particular workbook is open. Even running macros in other open workbooks would be slow. The slow down is probably around a factor of 10. Calculation set to Manual or Automatic makes no difference. It turns out that the workbook contained three Pictures created with the Camera Tool. These pictures were displaying live linked images of cell ranges from one sheet on another sheet, which I find to be very convenient since they show whatever is in the cell range including embedded charts. When I deleted these three pictures macro speed returned to normal. The slow down behavior was the same in xl97, xl2000, xl2002 and xl2003. Does anyone know a trick to make macro speed be unaffected by the presence of camera tool pictures in any open workbook. Has anyone else experienced this type of slow down behavior. Thanks, Brian Murphy Austin, Texas |

Hi Brian,
Yes I have found a similar drastic slowdown, which also affected calculation time for me. (I added a check for this condition in the last release of FastExcel). I have not found a way of avoiding the slowdown. regards Charles ______________________ Decision Models FastExcel 2.1 now available www.DecisionModels.com "Brian Murphy" wrote in message ...
