Default Merging two or more workbooks

Thanks Ron...I've already gathered a lot of useful info
from this site. I take it this means there is no real
built in function for merging workbook, huh?

Someone in my office wrote an application for Excel that
has some strange functionality. It opens several
different workbooks and then asks if I would like to

merge
the workbooks into a single workbook. Is this something
that is built into Excel or do I have to manually copy

and
paste sheets from all the workbooks into a single

workbook?
