Default Merging two or more workbooks

Someone in my office wrote an application for Excel that
has some strange functionality. It opens several
different workbooks and then asks if I would like to merge
the workbooks into a single workbook. Is this something
that is built into Excel or do I have to manually copy and
paste sheets from all the workbooks into a single workbook?

Thanks Ron...I've already gathered a lot of useful info
from this site. I take it this means there is no real
built in function for merging workbook, huh?
