Default Converting Lotus 123 Release 9 to Excel 2002

Excel cannot read files in the .123 format. If that's what you have then
you can either save the files in .WK4 format from 1-2-3 or get a converter
program such as Conversions Plus by www.dataviz.com

Default Converting Lotus 123 Release 9 to Excel 2002

Hello,

Jim is correct that "some" 123 formats can not be read in
excel. It's been my experince, if you save the 123 file
in Lotus as a .xls. Then open in excel highlight the
entire sheet right click mouse, select format\patterns no
color option the cell grids appear. Then do a save as
excel 97/2000 or 2002.
Now the work begins, depending on how complicated the
code, or if there is code, the conversion can get ugly.
Basic functionality will convert but more complexed code
needs to be recreated for excel 2002. However excel 97
will read most code.
You will notice the the file size has almost doubled -
I've found an add-in that can be run with limited success
to remove excess formatting or you can do manually.
XSFormatCleaner.xla.

here are some resources :

I will check out www.dataviz.com
Some converters are available to for sale but they can't
seem to convert code.
If you find one let me know.
Good Luck
Kathy
