Default Why am I getting the Copyright Sign instead of the Letter C"

Hello Everyone,

I have an unusual problem that I do not understand. When I type in the
Letter "(c)" ( Lower Case ) or "(C)" ( Upper Case ) in Brackets it
transfers it into a Copyright sign.
I know that in the Font "Tahoma" to get the Copyright sign you hold
down "Alt" and punch in ( on the Number Keypad ) 0169.
Does anyone have any ideas on a way to resolve this, or has anyone
come across the same problem.

Thank in advance.
Paul
