Default Adding a simple linear equation

As sad as it is, this is a little out of my league. I am trying t
create an equation in my worksheet that will automatically calculat
the inputs to a sum that will not change.

I want to be able to change the independent variable x, and have th
dependent variable y change accordingly.

I know this is probably a little basic for most users, but any hel
would be appreciated.

The basic setup would be x+y= 240,000 or something similar.

Thank

Default Adding a simple linear equation

Input your variable x into cell A1.
In B1 put the formula :-
= 240000 - A
