Default Survey Problem

Hi all,
I am trying to analyse some data from a questionnaire.
The data is made of 40 questions to which 150 people replied. Th
workbook contains the question form used as a Master spreadsheet wit
all the questions; this has a respondent ID count on it, which can b
manually changed as data is entered.

Each answer range has its own spreadsheet ie Q1, Q2, etc with the 15
respondents in Rows A4-A154 and the answer spaces in rows (in B4-B154
C4-C154....etc) for each Respondent.

I need to find a way to 'automate' the data input so that if an answe
space is filled in the Master Question sheet then the answer goes t
the right location and for the right respondent ID row (and stay
there). ie answer to Q1 by Respondent 5 goes to the suitable collumn o
Sheet Q1, Row A8. Simple?
Using XL 2000, tried it already with Lookup and Value functions base
on the Respondent ID of the Master but as soon the ID is changed th
existing data in the answer sheets gets erased for the new set. Anybod
got any ideas please? Many thanks
